[support] Unable to use Ubuntu /etc/network/interfaces script for interface configuration

Hello,

After installing the latest MIPv6 userland and kernel provided by Nautilus6,
I've noticed that I couldn't use ifup/ifdown/ifconfig ethX up/down anymore.
I mean, the interface will actually go up or down, but the commands entered
in the /etc/network/interfaces won't be effective, and the message "Failed
to bring up ethX" will show up. Any other method to specify parameters will
work (ip addr add, etc)
I've tried with a fresh install of Gutsy and it worked fine, that's why I'm
making a bug report here. The problem was already effective with the last
kernel/userland, but at the time, I assumed it was a glitch with my
configuration.
Feel free to ask me some supplementary information, as I don't know what to
include here.

Best regards,
Florian
